How much snow have you got so far

Long winter here (Buffalo NY area) so far. Seasonal snowfall is at the 15 foot mark. 63 straight days with precipitation is what the weatherman just said. Now I know why my snowblower engine needs new rings, it's wore out (like me)!

Wowsers, thats a lot of snow. That lake effect snow will bury you.

I got about 35 inches or so for the year. SE Michigan. Near Flint.
Last year I got about 75 inches total. I dont mind if it is 3-5 inches at a time what kills ya is the 12"+ plus per dump....that hurts.

Hello Pete,
we have about a 20" on the gound now (Syracuse area). I am getting in trouble my D14 can't push the snow banks back. I wish some would bring in a payloader or log skidder for me to work on so i can push the banks back, i have no room for anymore snow.

im the least snow winner, 1/4 inch so far and its warming up these days, bad news all the way, little water, long grasses, stupid tourists in weekend rentals with fireplaces, fire season is going to be real interesting this year

You guys get hammered out there, so far I think it's around 36" here, there is at least a foot on the ground, with 2 layers of crusted ice, and last time I went through undisturbed snow, there did not seem to be much frost in the ground. It has been white since around or just before the holidays, that is a hit or miss, so many times we'll lose the snow cover, but this year the cold temperatures have not let up.

West Michigan on the shoreline is over 10 feet so far. Pretty cold this year too with it being above freezing for the first time in quite a while. Satellite photo the other day showed ice on Lake Michigan 15 miles out from the shoreline. That has the side benefit of reducing lake effect snow burying us further.

I have lots of seat time on my 2N as well as my Cub Cadet removing snow from my 1/4 mile drive. Hey, should be only 6 more weeks.... right???

We've had close to four feet so far here in upland coastal Maine, most of it from two storms. Got about 18"-20" on the ground right now.

I don't know what we have recorded so far this winter, but it is a bunch. We also have had two very heavy rainfalls. The second one a few weeks ago, dropped the snow at least 15 inches. There is at least 2 feet or more on the level, probably more. Snow banks are higher than normal, I had to shovel the tops of them off at the end of the driveway so you could see if traffic is coming before you enter the road, and it needs it again. Also there is a lot of roof shoveling happening this winter. This is in northwest lower michigan near Traverse City.

Pete, Being 90 miles south of Lake Erie I can not compete with your snow fall but we have had more than usual here in north central Ohio.

Not all that much here, maybe 16"-18" on the ground right now. (lost some in Dec. when it rained) 2nd COLDEST January on record for n/w WI, though. Highs averaged 8 degrees below normal, lows 7 degrees below normal. Good thing we have global warming, or we'd have frozen to death!

Here in eastern NY Near Albany, 40 inches so far, but theres more coming this week. So they say at the Albany airport

Pete, what do you do with all of that snow! Here in NW Iowa we've had 20 - 24" so far this year, which is somewhere in the normal range. The bean stubble is parially bare now. Jim

Snow removal is a big business here. Homes blow it as much as possible cause otherwise you run out of places to put it,or they hire a plow service for the season. I use a Super A with a plow (front and back) and a early model Cub Cadet modified to use a 2 stage blower for a 600 ft drive.
Parking lots for the big box stores pile it up way high (15-20 ft) and then still lose about 1/3 of the lot to the snow piles by the end of winter. I'll have to post of photo of the piles cause it quite a sight. They all use massive box type bades to push the snow.
The highway crews have really big plows with wings and sometimes they run three plow trucks abreast to clear all the lanes.

Same over here, most contractors leave the front end loaders in the mall parking lot sometimes 5or 6 just waiting for snow. Most have the big snow pusher blades hooked to the bucket. Its not uncommon the see shopping carts all mangled in the pile of snow.

96 inches so far here in west michigan. I think it will probably be close to 115 inches by the end of winter or snow at least. A usual season is something like 80 inches.

He"s right for west Michigan. We had a bunch of snow - about what we get thru the end of January in December. Got a nice warm up end of December which removed a lot of it. Here in the end of January, we"re right back into snowbanks. We"re far over our seasonal average, with two and a half months to go. Shoved back snowbanks today - may run out of places to pile it.

Got around 12" on the ground here in Branch County Michigan. Heavy enough I'm hauling about 2/3 of a full load of firewood to make it to the road. I pull a 4x8 trailer with a JD B, may have to start using one of my bigger tractors. We had 15 hours in January over freezing, pretty cold for us.

We got over 129 inches so far this year where I live in northwestern PA. The record snowfall is 149 inches of snow. We will possibily beat that record this year as we have a half of the season left to go. Normal is around 90 inches for the year. I get lake effect from Lake Erie as I live in the snowbelt. Some places east of us got a lot more. I have a 3ph snow blower and its getting a work out. Its been one of the coldest and snowiest winters in a Long time.

None,zero-not even a drop of rain. Eastern New Mexico, we're in a drought. We have been in a drought for several years. We get the high winds though. Top soil gone. We don't get dust storms, we get dirt storms. Livestock running around with dirt rings around their eyes and noses. This is like those pictures of the dust bowl days. Most of the winter wheat is gone. I looked at a field yesterday that was irrigated and even it was burned up. We do get the cold temperatures.

Well, be careful-Mike

Howdy Mike, How's things going? Wife tells me the temps have been quite cold. Hope ya'll get some moisture soon. Take care, Jim

We had 11" in two days last week, not much all year before that. It locked things up here for a couple days. This is just south of Terre Haute IN.
