Question on Poison IVY

Neithbor is trying to figure out. How to get rid of all the Poison Ivy around the tree's on his 8 acrea's. Any idea's on this matter that might help him. ... His wife has already become real ill of the IVY and he just bougth this land.
Will his cattle eat it and if so what happens?

Find an herbicide containing Triclopyr. It's sold as brush-be-gone in the big box stores. At your chemical dealer, it's trade name is Garlon or Remedy. I prefer the the ester formulation, (remedy or garlon 4 or tryclopyr 4), as long as it's not hot weather. It can volatalize, drift and cause problems.. Anytime there is no wind and fog forming is not a good time to make a broadcast application. Spot treatments shouldn't be a problem. Good luck, by the grace of God I'm immune to the stuff.

Forgot to add, don't get too much triclopyr on the tree's foliage or soak the ivy excessively
