I am in need of any info on a Spitfire engine that is in a Massey harris 101 super but the engine was origionaly supposed to be in a Co-op B3. It was put in in the mid to late 40's. Any infor on a spitfire would be greatly appriciated. The engine is a Crysler 6 cyl flat head.

MH 101 super had a 201 plymouth motor. I have a 230 that will fit. the 201, 216, 217 and 230 fit.
I also have a kerosene manifold. and a belt drive governor

As I recall, Spitfires were originally in Chrysler cars; like most Chrysler engines, they were used in lots of other things, sometimes as original eqpmt, sometimes as someones upgrade.
You should be able to get complete tech info from any Chrysler, Chrysler Cptn or Mopar website.

I had a Spitfire engine a few years ago, it came out of a 1953 Crysler car. I sold it to a guy to put in a Yale forklift.

im lost too, when i opened the post i expected to see a massive 12 cylider merlin stuffed into a poor little tractor , ive seen eayly hemi engines in '50's desotos called the firedome but im lost on one called a spitfire

Sir the spitfire was a flathead 6 most likly 251/265 The big difference was it had a little higher compresion ratio. The head is 25 to 26 inch long and the 218 230 was 22/23 inch long never see a spitfire in a "small block" There were industrial versions of most chryslers and there were many other sizes too
