What are the mixing instrctions for roundup? I need to know how many ounces per gallon for general use. Thanks Stan

I use 2 oz per gallon for the hand sprayer and it works good around buildings and the driveway. Generic is the same at about half the price.

Stan, I use a 1 percent solution of active ingredient to kill brush, multiflora rose bushes, weeds, and grass. Very effective. You might try something a bit weaker and see how it goes. I suppose it also depends on how much spray you apply, as well. I use a wand sprayer and try to wet the leaves, but even the overspray kills a lot of stuff.

Always read the label of the pesticide that you are using. It also helps to know the weed you want to kill, and the growth stage of same. That being said, a 1-2% solution of RU (by volume) will kill just about any weed under 4' tall, when applied with a hand sprayer, applied to the point of leaf wetting.

The standard field rate is 1 quart of 41% glyphosate to the acre diluted in 3 gallons (applied by aircraft) to 15 gallons of water. I've used 8 and 10 gallons per acre in field crops. 1 quart to ten gallons is very close to the 1% solution sold in garden centers. That's about 3.2 liquid ounces per gallon of water. Glyphosate benefits from dissolving a couple pounds of ammonium sulfate per acre of liquid so the AMS can tie up hardness and dirt ions that would work on deactivating the glyphosate.

Then there are super strength concentrates that run 22 ounces per acre instead of 32 (one quart).
