Farmall h Alternator charging

Ok maybe someone can tell me what I did right here. I have a farmall H that I just switched over to 12 volt. I ran all new wiring just like I have on my M. They are both set up with the magneto so that is seperate. So what I did is I copied the M which works perfect and what I have on that is just a little horn button that I use to energize the alternator after its running to get it to charge. The only thing I did different on the H is I didnt use a AC delco because it wouldnt fit in between the motor and hood. So I went and found a mitubishi alternator which is alot smaller and fits in there great. It has the one main post and a 2 prung plug like the delco.
So I hooked it all up and started the tractor and as soon as it started running it was charging I didnt need to press the botton to energize it. I thought that was weird but very nice. So basically all I need right now is one wire running up to the alternator with a jumper off from the 2 prung plug. Wondering if anyone could tell why this alternator is different than the delco. The only thing that might help is on this mitubishi alternator it says "BUILT IN REC" What does this mean?

"Built in reG" as in regulator! it must have a lower triggering amp rate to energize the alternator than the delco unit. Aint it nice when things work out right for once?
