Grain/seed totes

Does anyone know off hand how many bushels/lbs of corn/oats /beans that these cloth totes will hold???need to haul some grain , but don't have a gravity box , but I do have hay wagons and avalibility of free totes...any help would be appreciated, Shawn

I bought 50 bu. of seed wheat last spring and they could only get 40 bu. in one bag - they had to put the balance in a second bag.

There are different sizes depending on the source. I've found half-ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton and 1 metric ton bags at different times.

My soybean seed comes in 2000 lb bags, fertilizer mostly comes in a tonne.

Standard size in the seed industry is 2000#. Some companies use the 2500# bag.

2000# of corn is 35.71bu. of corn and 33.33bu. of beans and wheat.

Be sure that the bags you get have not had treated seed in them. If a single treated seed is discovered by the elevator all of your grain could be rejected and you could end up buying a bin full of contaminated grain.

Thanks for the replys, The totes I have access to are coming from a organic farm and had flax meal or oat seed in them,so no worries of conamination, second is I will be using them to pick up grain not deliver,so no worries about load refusal, Thanks again, Shawn
