An acquaintance has let a BIL tear down the engine in His Mitsubishi model 2DR7-32131 twin cyl. tractor. Bil says "He can't find oil rings to replace bad ones". Any known sources for these parts? He sent the piston to some body, They say it is a 94mm which is a big help but They can't get them.

I know model engine builders make rings for Their engines, anybody ever tried to make an oil ring for a tractor engine?

it sounds to me like the bil is up against a parts guy that either isnt willing to help or doesnt know anything to start with, there has to be rings for it somewhere, they built the tractor and i doubt they only built one, you might try going to a mitsubishi car dealer and see if they can hook you up to the tractor people thru them, mitsubishi is a huge japenese company and they have been around a long time, [ guess who built the zero fighter plane of wwll fame] it might be that a really good industrial machine shop can make you a set too if you have one nearby you might give them a call and see what they say

It's been a long time but when I was a kid, I had an old two wheeled tractor given to me. The motor was locked up and had no identification on it. Dad went to a place in Marietta, OH called Marietta ignition (go figure) with the diameter of the piston, width of the grooves, and diameter of the cylinder and they matched what he needed. The place is still there (googled it last year) but don't know if they still offer that good of service. Our local Napa was pretty god also back then.

should be easy enough to find, but if all else fails you can call "Egge machine" in California. I've been told they will make pistons and rings for anything. They're into antique and hard to find parts.
