The cows know when we pull in the barnlot.

We gave this cow a name. She just has to see what is going on all the time. Open a door or a gate and she has to stick her nose in and look around. We call her nosey because she is.

This is the main shed we bed the cows in when it gets real cold.

This is one of the sheds we bed the calves in. It fun to watch them play in the new straw.

With chores done and not wanting to work out in the cold and snow we headed into the shop. Nick is starting to restore this classic Oliver spreader.

The 3010 has a little hydraulic problem so I put it in the shop. Maybe I can get it figured out tomorrow.

We grabbed lunch in the big city and got to talk with a neighbor about his new set of wheels, a Hummer pickup truck, toured the local used machinery lot looking for bargins, and chatted with a neighbor about buying a new bull from him while in the plumbing section of the hardware store. Spent the rest of the afternoon on a couple of other little projects for the lodge we belong to in town then finished up with chores. Another cold winter day in the books and one day closer to spring.
How did everyone else's day go?

Brrrrrr, those are great pics but they make me feel cold! Weather is great down here in far S. Texas, temps were in the mid to upper 70's today. Yesterday was much nicer, up in the 80's.
I took a few pictures today, just of a baby boer buckling I want to sell. Figure I could at least share one picture. Notice, no snow on the ground!

Going to haul beans for a customer in the morning. Semi hasn't been started since 18 Dec. So spent most of the afternoon getting it ready and a 8 mile test drive. All 18 wheels turned and all the gears shifted so the afternoon was a succes. Also the heater worked!!!!! Armand

Go ahead, rub it in! Someday we'll have our day in the sun too. It just won't be today. Jim in cold and snowy NW Iowa.

Bill I was just wondering, do you live on route 116? I travel that route somewhat frequent as I have a daughter and twin grand babie boys in Pekin. My wife goes every Sat. Bernie Steffen

No not up on the hiway. Just a couple miles south of 116, east of farmington a mile. Farm along state rt 78 south of farmington a few places but dont even farm up along rt 116.

With all the weird OT posts on here it is so nice to see some actual farm pics. This is what this site used to be about. Thanks for taking the time to post them.I like your flagpole too.

I'm about 130 miles south of there in the Harlingen / LaFeria area. I was up in your old stomping grounds a few weeks ago, Robstown, CC and over to Aransas Pass. You would be surprised to see how it's growing up that way. Well same is true down here too.

Hello rgvtx, I'm in So. Korea right now, 2 1/2 months into a 12 month tour. I was in Corpus twice in 2007, lost two uncles. This was the first time since 1988 just before I went to Germany. In 1988 it had changed. In 2007, I had a hard time finding my way around. My brother lived there and moved to San Antonio in 2006. He tried to give me directions over the phone, and nothing resembled what what I remembered.

Haven't been to Harlengen since before I moved away from Corpus. Not sure I would have any idea where anything is/was.

But times, things, and people change everyday. I was at Kunsan in 2005/2006. There were people there that this was their third and fourth trip. They commented on how much things have changed. I'm at Osan now, had come up here for the weekend a few times. It's changed alot since 2006.

Take care,
Jim
