1940 Farmall A with plowexhaust lift

We restored my Great-grandfather's Farmall A three years ago. Last month we went back to the farm and got the old A-192 plow that goes with it. Thats going to be our next project. Most a-192 plows I see are hand lift, but ours is rigged up to lift off the IHC exhaust lift. We have the complete lift but it is in pieces from when we took it off the tractor. Its like a big jigsaw puzzle to see how it goes together. When we get it working and looking good again about how much value would it add to the tractor? I'm never going to sell it but aren't those exhaust lifts pretty rare. This one mounts on the left side on the bell housing. Thanks for any comments.

That plow will plow nice. The A I had didn't have the exhaust lift and wasn't too bad when lifting it with the long lever and springs. The plow took a few minutes to figure out how to install it since I didn't have a manual. That plow is very heavy for one man. Hal
PS: The plow is on this tractor. The Polaroid picture is a little too dark. Should've had our digital back then.

My wife's dad use to talk about a B Farmall he owned that the cultivator lifted off the exhaust this way and point rows would cause the tractor to get hot.

I have a 1941 A with exhaust lift and plow lift. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and send to you. Maybe it will help to see one. I'll also look at the manual (out in the shop and its 3 degrees outside so I'll get it tomorrow)off the top of my head I don't remember what model # it is but if its the same as yours I could scan a few pictures maybe.

Been around those lifts since 48 and never seen one make an engine hot yet. There wouldnt be anything with the lift to cause that condition.

That will make a nice show piece as my exhaust systems always get plenty of lookers at shows. I f you need any help give me a holler

The plow I had was a # 87. Attached to this (if I figure out the photo stuff) is a picture of the plow lift on the tractor, and the cover of the manual. The plow isn't currently on the tractor. I see Gene Bender has posted a response. He's how I figured mine out (thanks Gene).

When I get around to restoring my BN I'm going to try to get the exhaust lift working again. My grandfather converted the plow (BN-187) to Hydraulics, which works pretty well, but I think the exhaust life would look better.

I've got most of the pieces, some day I'll have to sit down and figure out what's there and what's not.
