Over riding PTO

Transmits power one way, free wheels when the machine (like a brush hog) is still spinning and pto is shut off.

It keeps the equipment on the PTO from "driving" the tractor.

Implements like a mower build up a lot of energy. Without an over-running PTO you could try to stop the tractor, and the mower will transmit power back through the PTO shaft to the tractor.

Well I would add to it but seems most have done a good job. Just think about that ratchet you use on your sockets and what would happen if you hard it on a motor that was spinning. One way it would take your arm off the other it would just sit there and click away

So do you think one of these would fix the problem of when I am using my snowblower and push in the clutch I hear a slight grinding noise, also happens when I release the clutch. The noise only happens when I am using the PTO.

Had an old neighbor that was not real with it. He was at anothers neighbors farm shop telling this story about how he was trying to use a bush hog he had bought and put on his 8N Ford. He said he got to the end of the field and wanted to stop, shoved in the clutch and he said " The thing actually went faster, I hit a tree and set there with the back wheels spinning" No over running clutch!
