7700 jd combine motor in 4230jd

Howdy all i just came across a 4230 that needs a motor and i have a 7700 (77 model) combine with a good 404td. i am wondering if i can swap the motors without much trouble. The tractor motor is locked up and just came in to a local salvage yard, im getting first pick at it.I can pick it up for 4500 and they will deliver if i am willing to wait a month. Plan to go look at it on thursday. What i do know is this

-Powershift/3-remotes/540&1000 shafts with it/3-point/needs new frame rails and a fresh coat of paint/new rear tires 18.4 x 38

any suggestions or comments are appreciated thank you in advance
 
I asked that question of a local combine salvage place that had many good used Deere engines salvaged off combines.

Besides the usual changes to the tractor manifolds, water pump, oil pan, hyd pump driver, throttle linkage. He said that the combines attach the flywheel with more bolts than a tractor, and that when a combine engine is installed in a tractor, the unused crank flange holes must be plugged or motor oil will leak into the clutch housing.
No personal experience with this, just relaying what the guy told me.

I put a 105 combine gasoline engine in a 4020 gas tractor. That was a pretty much bolt in swap
The combine oil pan and spin on oil filter make for less messy oil changes compared to the tractor cartridge filter set up.
 
Thanks for the input. im want learn as much as i can before a swap so im not standing around scratching my head. also will the turbo fit under the hood? I would like to leave the the turbo on it. the tractor is never going to be worked real hard mostly just bailing, raking, loader work, and some small implements.
 
Turbo fits under hood, but exhaust comes out in little different spot , so opening in hood has to be enlarged and you will need to keep old oil pan from tractor. Also some work piping the air intake systme to air filter.
