my dad has a 3010 gas that he said i could have if i got it going the problem we think is either the clutch or the syncros but i dont really want to go splitting the thing which iam sure you all know never the less we are just currious if you guys have any thaughts before we get started the tractor seems to be real hard to get into most all gears grinding
the fact that it has been sitting for a year or two probably does not help note that we have not adjusted the clutch or anything i am just wondering were to start and avoid going to the dealer if possible

Not sure I follow exactly what is going on with your tractor....meaning....not sure if you are having problems shifting while moving or just getting it into gear period.

The synchronizers are used for shifting within the quadrant you are in. So for example, first to third, 6th to 8th, etc. If you are changing between quadrants, you should stop the tractor as the synchronizers were designed for shifting within the same quadrant.

Now...if you are stating that with the tractor stopped and you cannot get it into a gear without it grinding, I'm thinking you have a clutch problem with it not fully disengaging.

If this tractor has sat for a year, good chance the clutch is stuck to the pressure plate/flywheel. If you start the tractor while in gear and the clutch disengaged and it still moves somewhat, tells me then clearly the issue is with the clutch not releasing fully. BUT...PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN STARTING IT WITH THE TRACTOR IN A GEAR! Make sure that no one is nearby, you are in the seat, nothing is around that you can hit and be prepared to shut it down quickly if necessary.

Sorry about the capital letters above as if I was screaming. Heard of too many people doing this and running over people, pets and such. Safety first!

thank you very much i will try that this upcoming weekend when i get back to the farm

ps i will be very careful thank you 4 the warning
