Retrieving replys to posts.

One of the situations I often notice is that replys to previous posts often go unnoticed. Someone will post a question or comment and after a few days the post gets buried on the back pages. Is there a way to notify the original poster that a recent reply has been sent regarding his original post? As it is now, you have to physically go back and dig out the original post to see if others have responded. Perhaps this should have been posted on the Site comments. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Leave your e-mail open than check your e-mail if you are the org. poster or if you are asking a question on someone else's post. Armand

If it's s brand specific question,I post on that particular forum. Not so much trafic there. Posts tend to stay up longer and you get more answers than opinions or smart remarks. That's one way.

Am I missing something here?? Do you check the box labeled "email notification" below the message box when you make the post or reply to a post?
Granted, it states two weeks; just post an email address with your post or reply and the system will (usually) get an email to you after that(I"ve been told occasionally an email was sent that I never received, probably cut out by either MSN"s security filters or my own.
I get MSN"s "junk filtered" notices occasionally that I can"t bring up for review; in the two or three years I"ve had this set I probably haven"t had more than 5 or 6 emails shunted to junk where I can review them.

I think you are missing something, probably because I didn't explain myself well. Granted, I'm not a computer geek and don't know how to do this. I've missed some people's replys to questions I've had because several days have gone by and I didn't know they replied. I thought I was rude to them because of my failure to acknowledge their efforts to answer my question.
Asking to have them send me a separate email is asking too much.....in my opinion. I just thought there might be a way to receive notice of reply via the YT forum.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Are you saying that if I check "email notification" that I will receive an email each time telling me that someone has replied to my post?

That's exactly right, as long as you put your correct email address in. Once in a while Yahoo thinks these notices are spam and I don't get them, but then I have to go and edit my spam filter and it'll be god for a while again.
