cylinder head reforging

Today i found out that the head on my JD 60 is cracked, i heard that the head could be reforged, and i was curious as to what the process is and what the end result would be?

Since the head was cast, and not forged, I don't think it can be reforged. Cracks can be welded in cast by the right skills. One Company that does that is Midwest Cylinder Head at Nevada Iowa.

thanks, I did a search for Midwest Cylinder Head, and was able to learn a little more about the process.
