Sleepy YANMAR

Yanmar 2022 , almost loses prime and stalls if it is idling for a 10 minute period, and when I want it to get up and go ,,Sometimes it has to take its time runnin -up , in the 5 yrs I have had it It has always Been a Cold WEATHER RASCAL to get started . I do mix about %5 gas with Diesel in Winter and it has improved .. After reading post below , My Fuel is not gelling ,,we are still above freezing here .. It is My Daily feed tractor , And Often I have cleaned and replaced Fuel Filters ,,,tank line has good flow , Perhaps Fuel return Line crudded UP ??? ,, I KNOW A 4020 will throw ya' fits when its line is plugged!!!! Thinking about adding a little more gas because it will get COLD here in a day or So ,, and trying the 911Disel start fix,, Any other Ideas Guys ? , Thanx jim

May be sucking air at the filter or one of the fittings. Also you may try adding a electric lift pump in the line or replacing the one it has if it does already have one.

Hello heitkemper,
Maybe another 1% or 2 . to much gas would realy hurt that sleepy YANMAR. I would look for wet spost on the fuel line.If all is dry you may ned a check valve to prevent the fuel draining back to the tank. Cheap and easy fix. Just make sure the check valve I.D. is the same as the I.D. of the existing fuel line.

My Yanmar does NOT have a primary fuel pump. The fuel is gravity only through the filters and to the injection pump.
If my filter gets any age at all it does the same thing.
Change the filter and give it a try.

Bingo ,, Found weeping leaks this A.M,,, Will see about a seal kit for the thumb Pump and on Off valve ,, Thanx to All , Jim
