How about the flip side and do you have anything you wished you WOULD have sold? About three years ago a man came to look at a Sherman Monroe Backhoe that I had bought at a farm sale about 20 years ago. He had the tractor that it came off of or a similar one. The person that had the sale had "kind of" made it to mount on a 3-point hitch. It worked okay, but if you had a very big job, it would have needed a lot of hydraulic oil and you would have needed a lot of time. Any way, this older man came to look at it and he decided he wanted it. I asked $500 and he agreed. Asked if I wanted a check now I said to wait and give it to me when he came to pick it up. He has never showed up. Don't know his name. Have asked several people who helped him get in touch with me what his name was and nobody can remember. Don't know if he died as he was pretty old! Anybody want a backhoe? Same price as I offered it to the old guy! On the other side, I had a 1970 GTO Judge that I got rid of back in the early 80's. The tranny was out of it for the second time and I couldn't keep head gaskets in it. Got rid of it for a motorcycle (only got rode a couple times) and $300. Never did get the $300. The guy that bought it had to put new brakes on it so he didn't think he needed to pay. I guess he was "right", since he didn't!!! Always hoped I was able to get even with him, but haven't seen him for a long time. His deed did not go unpunished though, as the car was sitting in a garage and the garage burned down!!! Sold the motercycle for $325 after having it take up room for about 5 years.

As they say!

What Goes Around Comes Around!!

It's a shame that people have to be that way and not pay.

kind of a shame, and what goes around...... if that was a numbers matching car, be worth something today, friend has one he got in the early 80's, 68 judge, that hugger orange sure stands out, kinda quick too, remember catching a ride in it back in HS, my car was down, was hitch-hiking to school that day, really nice original condition, they have a whole steel building with them now, real nice red '64 GTO in there too.

I've had a few people "stick" me in my lifetime for some amount or other. I have no use for deadbeats. But, I'd rather be the one getting the "Shluck" than the person who gave "it" to someone. My conscience is clear, and that is of greater worth than the amount some "bottom feeder" might have "stuck" me for.

When we bought our place in '89, it had a big satellite dish- some guy wanted to trade me an air compressor for it. I foolishly turned him down. Of course, the big dishes soon became obsolete, and I was stuck with the thing. Wish I had just given it to him, to get rid of it.

My truck, 01 Dodge 2500 in fall of 2007. Before I put a head, injector pump, PCM computer, injectors, front end, clutch, a/c evaporator core, and transmission top plate on it.

Wish I would have sold my 401k to some other suckers in New York about 1 year ago! Also, just about everything else thats not nailed down around here.

I wouldn't beat yourself to death about it I've done that so many times, once had a 1967 Ford Fairlane 390 GTA CONVERTIBLE traded it for a brand new 1972 Plymouth Sebring Satellite wound up owing $500 so was upside down on the payoff exwife took the Plymouth found out a few years later they only made 1500 of the Fairlane convertibles and only a handful then were left now worth a fortune and they made two versions 330hp and I think maybe 360hp I had the HO one and clean that one is even more rare!!! :-<

The Ford's we sold were:

Original 1965 Mustang for $250.00
Original 1966 Fairlane XL 2 door with 390 for $200.00
Original 1969 Cougar XR7 convertible with 351 for $1100.00

The Mustang and the Fairlane were my brother's cars and were pretty "junked out" when sold. The Cougar was mine and we had restored the body once but when I sold the car it was in need of a total frame-off restore. I bought it used for my first car and hot-rod at age 16 and kept it seven years. I wore it out, it was a great car to drive and had about 130K on it when I sold it. I buried the speedometer one last time the day before I let her go.

Just my luck, its one of those expanded metal mesh types. Believe me, I've tried to think of some use for it, but as far as I can see, its completely useless.
