O/T Fuel Price question

I know we have kicked this mule a few times already. Crude is at $39.00 a Barrel, it was $42.00 yeasterday . Why is gas still $1.99?

Makes me even madder is I got kerosene last week...The pump said Untaxed and Undyed Kerosene.

Huh! untaxed...then why was it $3.99 per gallon.

It is normally true that gasoline follows crude up and down. The last couple weeks gas prices on the board have remained fairly constant running between $1.09 and $1.20 regardless of crude prices.

The cost of a barrel of oil continues to go down. I read just a couple of days ago about a 12% drop, plus, our gas inventories are up. There is STILL a reduced demand in this country. Gas has jumped up over 20 cents here in a week. If somebody has an answer, lets hear it. I don't remember, ever, gas prices going up. While crude barrel costs goes down. Jack

When crude peaked at $147 a barrel gas was $3.89 in my area of the midwest.Today crude is around $40 and gas is $1.65.Using those figures gas would be $6.00 a gallon if crude goes back up to $147 a barrel.

Diesel was $2.04 on Weds and was $2,15 yesterday.I havent checked the local kerosene prices recently but they are a rip off.

That would be true if the gas tax, processing cost and transportation fees all increase 367% too.

Well I will try and give you an answer, dont know if its right.
They are trying anything they can for an excuse to raise it,war with Israel in Gaza,OPEC cutting production, and so far its not working. The crooked speculators do not have the leverage on the per barrel price because the world is on to their tricks. They are just plain stealing as much as they think they can get away with now.Not even offering an excuse and nobody is asking them for one, except us people that buy fuel.We dont count, and if they told us something it would be a lie probably.Since Bush(Ceo of crooks from the Middle East oil region)is leaving soon, they wanted to get some more while they could.Turns out the Middle East is not the only place that has oil now,but they still have lots, but we quit using a bunch,so they are making up by stealing more from us.Take your pick one of those is probably closer to true than what they will tell you.

Today in Cherokee Iowa (the highest price around) gas is 1.79, and 1.89. Up 30 cents a gallon this week!

Gas just jumped up here in Sask a couple of days ago. Was 74c/ltr ($2.96/gal), then it jumped up to 84c/ltr ($3.36/gal) at all stations within an hour!

I HEARD THAT TRADERS WERE LEASING OCEAN GOING FREIGHTERS TO STORE "CRUDE" IN. THEY WERE BETTING THAT OIL WOULD BE UP $15 A BBL BY THE TIME THERE LEASE RAN OUT AND WERE LOOKING FOR 20 MORE BOATS FOR STOREAGE. THATS HOW/WHY THE PRICES ARE GOING UP AND DOWN.. CC

Oil companies and other Traders are storing crude on idle super tankers, costs roughly $1.25 per barrel per month, been going on for years when they thought it would pay off, meanwhile there are record stocks of both crude and refined products in the US. If you are a farmer, don't you want to choose when you sell your grain or livestock in order to get the most money for your years production. I don't understand why oil companies are villians for wanting to make the most profit possible.

They're Fn crooks because I have no choice but to use their product, either to get to work or other essential trips. These high gas prices proved that fuel is an essential product that needs to be regulated because of how they destroyed our whole economy and nearly ever job in it. With your farm goods I can choose not to use most of what you produce or grow my own and not buy yours at all and you have the choice to sell strait to me and not some middle man..

you do have a choice not to use there product, you can use horses, bikes, public transportation, no one is twisting your arm to buy there product,,

in todays times when we all own multiple vehicles, toys, tractors, lawn mowers, etc,,etc,, it seems we HAVE to buy there product,, but it is all convenience,,,

you dont need to have those gas eating things,, yes I know in reality you need to get back and forth to work, and all teh other engagements you have,, but you are not forced to have these luxuries,, yes it seems they are needed ,, but many people survive without them,,

you make it see like buying gas is something we are FORCED to do,, it sure makes life easier,, but we are not forced to do it, there are options,, they may not be goo doptions but they are options,

""you do have a choice not to use there product, you can use horses, bikes, public transportation, no one is twisting your arm to buy there product,,""

First off, you, even better tell your wife that she's going to do it the way you listed for even a week, then come back and tell me how that worked out.
Second, who besides people that live around areas with good public transportation and the occasional nut that takes their life in their own hands and rides a bike 15 miles in rush hour traffic to work? And any bike or motorcycle rider I know parks them for the winter.
Third, list some other transportation options that doesn't transport me a hundred years into the past.

Second, who besides people that live around areas with good public transportation and the occasional nut that takes their life in their own hands and rides a bike 15 miles in rush hour traffic to work(( doesn't use some kind of fuel ))? And any bike or motorcycle rider I know parks them for the winter.
Typed so much, left out the point, but sorta implied.

say you had to do it ,, or you should do it , or it would be easy to do it,, but you "could" do it, so you DO have a choice..

I am not going to do it or even ask my wife to do it, because I aint crying about how they are ruining my life,,

Its one of those things,, you want to hear the music pay the piper,, its as simple as that,,

Are times tough around here because prices are up, you betcha,, but do what you can to save and grin and bear it,, I still use my tractors and plow, put some kerosene in the salamander when the tractors freeze, and put gas in my chainsaws to cut firewood, when I can get in the woods with all the snow, and use the gas,, That aint gonna stop,, I could make it stop if I wanted to , but I wont,,

I was plowing today and with my truck I get 5 miles to teh gallon with the plow on it,, I needed gas , I fueled up, I paid for it, My CHOICE could be not to plow me and the neighbors and not pay the "greedy SOBs "their share ,, I decided, I wanted to ,, again you are not forced to DO anything you dont want to do,,

I would never live in the city, or want to ride public transportation, 15 miles from town it wont come out here anyway,, but IF I wanted to I could move to the city where there is public Transportation, or stores within walking distance, I could find a job where I didnt HAVE to drive,, I wont, I dont want to , but I COULD<<<, ALL I was saying there is a choice,, yo make yours and you live with it,, thats my 2 cents,,

My response is that somebody on here always says you don't have to buy gas. In the strictest sense you're right, but as an answer to manipulated high fuel prices and a basic necessity to everyday well being, it's totally illogical and ignorant response. For the most part if you try to live off the grid you'll pay somebody else to use fuel for you.
I live in a heavy Amish area. Their buggies are for Wednesdays and Sundays. Their houses have big propane tanks and their main mode of transportation is Amish taxis (drivers and vehicles for hire). They have something against be wired up so their businesses have generators and use what ever heavy equipment they need for their business.
Ain't cryin either, I just think the public should be up in arms for the theft of their lifestyles. You may not have been affected yet, or you may just not know it but it's coming.
