You recently asked about what I posted re: teaching carb repair. Most school districts in rural MN have these Community Education programs. Kind of a tie between local people and the schools, administered by CE coordinators, their salary comes from the District. Usually parttime coordinators, they arrange for classes, trips, etc. Ag teacher or local welder might teach welding classes, computer savvy folks teach that, auto mechanics, dance instructors, do the same. Big variety of classes. Not any formal training required- just sharing years of knowledge. Everyone sets his own program, newsletters are sent out via public mass mailings 2-3 times a year.

I guess I should call or visit my local Vo-tech school which is part of the local school system and see if they have something like that. I know I sure would not mind doing something like that and it might also help my back pocket which this time of the year is always thin.
Thanks

I think you'd enjoy the flexibility of hands-on classes, with your mobility issues. Couple workbenches and shop stools to sit on beat standing in front of a group for 3 hours.

I know in the past I have offered my services to the Ag class but was turned down. Woman teaches that class and says she would not know how to teach any thing about tractors. Sure would be nice if I could arrange a class some how on old tractors and how to bring them back from the dead to one that a person could be proud of or just be able to put it back to work after it had sat for many years.
I know I may have asked before but how close are you to Winona or Mini-s-ka. I ask because my uncle said out on the old farm place there where 2 or 3 old dead tractors that where parked years ago

Hey old Maybe you show me how to restore the hood and grill on my C Farmall. New ones are 600 bucks. Questionable used ones are 300. Woe is me.. Thanks Bernie Steffen

Yep that is the price you pay for playing with these old tractors. Shame how many of them that still run or could be made to run easy have been cut up for scrap iron. Oh by the way if you are close enough to me come on down and lets see what can be done to it

Winona is a good three hours SE of me- beautiful country in those hills and bluffs. Went to a wedding there a few years ago. Not sure what you mean by Mini-s-ka...Minnetonka? That is just west of MPLS, I'm an hour NW of MPLS

Mini-s-ka isn't very far from Winona. My couson has the old home farm, dads side of the family in the Mini-s-ka area. Last time I talked to my uncle he said he had a few tractors park in the fence row that he did not use any more. Sure would love to see some one get them and put them back to work

Well I called the Vo-teck school and there are sending me papers to fill out. So maybe by this next fall I might be teaching some classes on tractors and also maybe one on what people should know about cars before they should be able to drive. I.E. things like how to check oil, air up there own tires/check them, check all fluids etc.
