Farmall cub tractors

I have not got my manual as of yet. I bought a old farmall cub.How do you check the oil. It is alot differnt than my Allis model B. And the serial number tag is missing. Is there any other way that you can find out how old it is?

Thanks Derrell

The oil dipstick ia attached to the oil breather cap. There may be a serial number on the engine block but I am not sure.
Rollie,

You need to make sure you have oil pressure every time you start the engine. The Cubs have a history of loosing their oil pressure. Could be where the oil pump is installed. You need to split the tractor to get to it. There's a procedure out for priming the pump. Hal

the serial # is on the right side of the tractor. this # will tell the year i think you can look it up on this site. as for the year of the motor, there is a date code on the left side of the engine behind the carb.this will tell year of motor.

i counted around 9 cubs along with about 9 other tractors all setting out in front of a old fellows garage who lives a couple miles away.he may have passed away and there getting ready for an auction dont know for sure whats going on but they werent there a week ago. RICK
