3020 Lift links: stuck

The lift links on our 68 Deere 3020 row-crop haven't been lubricated properly by the previous owner(s) and are stuck in the all the way retracted position. One of the adjusting cranks is broken off (not my doing). I've tried to persuade these to move by using a crow bar, WD-40, etc. This is really inconvenient because many of the things that we want to do with the 3-point we can't do. We couldn't get the 3-pt low enough to hook up our snow plow, we couldn't get is low enough to spear a big bale, and it's frustrating in general.
Any suggestions on how to get these unstuck/where to buy new ones? I'm pretty sure I'll have to go with option #2.

Soak em good and soak em often with that exotic brew of 1/2 ATF & 1/2 Acetone.

Heat them up with a torch and take them all the way apart and clean them up and grease the snot out of them. Chris

Flush the wd-40 out with blasts of Kroil. It has performed better than PB Blaster, though PB Blaster isn't nearly as bad as WD-40 and Liquid Wrench.

You will probably have to take the latches out and remove the rest with violence. And getting the extension latches out may take a lot of Kroil.

Replacement parts may be a Sloan EX and Shoup, but be sure to sitting down when you find the prices.

The height of the lift links is controlled by the control cable and the rock shaft valve. If that cable is not adjusted right the rock shaft won't go down or up far enough.

I tried everything to get mine loose. Repeated soakings with every kind of oil and repeated heatings with the torch. Finally put the knuckle in the vice and used a pipe wrench with a six foot long cheater pipe and got them to come loose. Took a lot of working back and forth but the work good now.

You might want to check your cable and adjustments, if you can't spear a bale or hook up to an implement, you have other problems. Maybe load and depth settings. chris

Had the same problem with my 4020. Took the bottom end off the lift arm and after repeated soaking with PB Blaster, over a period of about a week, using a 5' pry bar was able to finally loosen one side. The other side will probably need the hot wrench as the top connection was starting to twist with too much torque on it. At least now I can level implements with the one side that is now adjustable. Good luck.

It's not a problem with the controls, I think. I could be wrong. It was a big square bale I was trying to spear, and I could just barely get it. How far from the ground should the end of the 3-pt be on a normal 3020?

ok thanks. I think ours is probably about ten. So if i can get the damn lift links unstuck, it should be relatively normal
