Can someone please tell me witch one has the most horse power the JD 720 or the JD G. Thanks

720 has more power than a G. A more practical and useful machine as well.

about the same if you put gas pistons in a late G.

Put LP pistons in the 720/730 gasser and it will out dyno the G with gas pistons & manifold.

The G was built in three major types through the years if memorey serves.
In early 1953 the G was updated into the much improved 70. Duplex carb, live hydraulics, optional live pto, optional power steering. More power on less fuel and smoother running.
The upgrade of the 70, the mechanicaly "nearly identical" 720 and 730 were intoduced in 1957 and 1959 if memory serves.
The 720/730 gained a true three point hitch, more power/efficiency and finally a slower 1st gear that didn't require a brisk pace to keep up with if walking.
