hydra-mac skidsteer

Hi guys. I saw a small hydra-mac skidsteer that's in good shape except for a blown motor. Any idea if it's worth anything? He's asking 800 for it, which seems high, but just wondering what it might be worth. Would be kind of handy around the farm, as long as I could get another engine for it. Smallenginewarehouse.com didn't list one for it, but I imagine they could come up with something...

You can put a honda motor in it for around $1200. You'll have a real good machine then. Hydra Macs are good skidloaders, the Onan engines are there weak points.

Thanks for the reply. What are some things I should be looking for when I check it out, taking into consideration it doesn't run right now?

My son had one of those apart all over his shop last spring, finally found the parts for it in Iowa I believe. He said it was a very well built and rugged machine. The owner ran it without enough lube in the final drives they are gear drives on the final drives. The company is out of business I believe.

I have a large OLDER Hydra Mac. Very dependable machine. Mine has O rings in the hyd system that leak a lot. This was fixed in the newer ones. I get my parts from Hackert Sales and Service in Sully Iowa. I havnt had to get anything in the past several years. They are very knowledgeable about the brand.
