Well got some help from my son today and found the leak. I could not see it by my self yesterday but it does in fact leak out of the radiator at the seam on the bottom of the tank. I could drive the 100 miles and get it fixed but min. is $75 or she can buy a new one for $145 plus tax so she is going to get a new one. We figure by the time we drive to have it fixed and the min being what it is in the long run a new one would be cheaper

Its better to get a new one. The old one may not have been repairable after driving all that distance. Hal

I'm having an old tractor radiator repaired at a local shop, and he said the old stuff is about all that's keeping him going. New radiators are either throw-aways, or are so shoddy that once they get a few years on them, they just keep breaking. He's hoping he can keep enough business to get him through to social security- no hope of selling the business, just not enough work to justify someone getting into it.

Plus the old one could have been partially plugged. You're better off with the new one.

Most vehicle radiators since around 1990 seem to have gone the same way everything else has. It's cheaper in the long run to pitch the old on the pile and buy a new one.
