66 Oliver Firing Order Distribtor direction

I think I got the wires on wrong on my 66 Oliver. I am off by one one way or the other and I lost my piece of paper with that information on it.. Can someone tell me what I need to know. Thanks in advance.

Well, distributor rotation is easy to determine. Tie the cap safely out of the way, and note which way it turns.

Firing order is 1,2,4,3.

To check the rotation take the cap off and turn the rotor by hand. It will only move slightly (about a 1/4 of an inch) in the direction of ratation and it will spring back.

This is the mechanical advance. It advances at certian RPM's and the centrifigul weight springs below the point plate pull it back.

This is the easiest way to check rotation.

You don't have to turn the engine over at all.

When standing on the distributor side of the engine facing it and looking down at it, #1 is originally in the 1 o'clock position. Cyl #1 is closest to the radiator.
