My IHC 806 has a Dual loader with hyd pump that runs off 540 pto shaft , is it possible to run the same Hyd pump off the 1000 shaft with an adapter, would this make the pump run to fast being on the 1000 shaft. reason for asking this that i want to put the loader on a tractor that has only 1000 pto.

Pretty hard to tell WHAT would happen, without knowing the make and model of the pump, so GPM @ 1000 RPM could be determined.

Your going to double the gpm on that pump. It may not be designed to run that fast. The control valves and bypass may not be designed to handle more gpm.

Why aren't you using the 806 built in hydraulics? They have more than enough capacity to run any loader ever built to bolt up to and 806. If the proposed tractor is IH and 1,000 rpm only, it will have as much or more hydraulic capacity than 806.

I agree with Hugh- you should look into a power beyong hookup. Then you don't have to screw around with the pto pump and you can use the tractor for other stuff also.

806 has internal transmission problems and my 1206 has a 1000 shaft, thats the way my loader was set up to work when i got it, didnt want to change anything yet. just take loader off and put back on.

Been all thru this and I totally disagree.

Unless the replacement tractor has had the big 17 gallon pump installed, loader work is gonna be painfully, and I mean "PAINFULLY" slow.

I'd put the PTO pump on an adaptor and get on with the day. Ain't gonna hurt it a bit other than make that loader "faster" and "quicker".

Put thr IPTO unit from the 806 in the 1206.You will have the problem solved & will be able to use the 1206 for a lot more things.

First of all most likley your pump has a speed up drive somewhere if it is running on 540. Most gear type hydraulic pumps are not effecient at less than 1200 RPM. Now if you run it at on the 1000 RPM and you do not use full tractor RPM you may love it. If you do try it, listen for noises like pump caviation because you can not fill it fast enough. What valve (manufacture, casting numbers etc) is your loader equipped with.

You'll probably be OK if you loaf it around at less than PTO speed most of the time. If you do need to tach it up for tillage, baling, etc., get the loader positioned where you want it, and turn off PTO so you don't over-rev the pump. I would look into using the tractor hydraulics, though- and the hookup probably isn't difficult, if you get an IH guru to figure it out. I have a 504, and it uses the remote to feed a Griesen valve for the loader. I'm sure there's a way to hook up the power beyond, but I haven't taken the time or energy to figure it out- and there's a lot of hoses and ports on the thing.
