Is this for real and if so any one have any idea how many were made?
My son sent me the link to this on thesamba.com
A long with old tractors my son’s and I restore old VW bugs to drive. He was looking for some parts he needed and ran across this Bungartz VW based Tractor (1967 ?)

Yes, it's for real. I've spent many many hours in the fields on one of these. The gearing would move the thing along, or be full throttle, and hardly moving. Also many gear selections inbetween. Very rugged little tractors. Used a lot for working between rows. So you see; compact tractors have been around a long time.

Are there many of these setting around up there still? It would be all most as much fun to take that to a VW car show as it would to take it to a tractor show

Thats my vw bungartz tractor in the pic, I actually stumbled into it back in august 08 while looking at a Maserati car which i had to buy to get the tractor! long story short its a 67 and I was told by another bungartz collector that only 25 of the T7 1967 style tractors were made with the round hood. this tractor was in a nursery 70 miles south of me here in TN, I had always wanted one but figured i would never find one and Poof my dream came true. I also have the rear tiller for it too!
