Found this in car magazine.Was an ongoing story in popular science magazine,about an auto mechanic.Try ythis website (www.arcpress.com/modelgarage/gus.htm)I always enjoyed the stories,hope you do too.Let me know what you think.

I've got boxes of those magazines dating back into the thirties. I enjoyed reading about Gus - first thing I looked at in each issue.
