Gonna be a long winter

I spent two hours Friday plowing the drive. I have a TO 30 with a JD back blade. I've already run out of room to push snow, with two months to go. And this morning we have another six inches with more predicted for tomorrow. Fortunately, my BIL has a JD diesel with a front loader. I'll ask him to move some snow so I can push more to take its place. I know other parts of the country have had lots more, but it's still a pain. Beautiful, but ....

I have a similar problem. I have a long narrow drive, 900 feet long and it is lined with trees almost the whole way. A snow thrower works but is a pain in the a** to use verses the tractor.
I may have to give a few bucks to a guy that has a frontend loader to pile it for me. I wish my neighbor would get his skid steer loader to his house.

That's where a blower is nice. I only use mine when we get a lot of snow, as it is much slower than the pickup and plow or tractor with bucket/blade. But with the blower, the snow is gone and you don't have to deal with it.

I remember having the gas line freeze up on Dad's DC Case pushing snow when I was a kid, always had to dump Heet in it, 10% ethanol gas solved that problem!

If you get a blower for that big tractor you"ll never have a problem again with too much piled up snow. I also live in Mi. and I"ve seen them big blowers go pretty cheap at the right time of year at auctions. I use one on my small compact and can move alot more snow than I can with my rear blade on a bigger tractor. DoubleR

Pushing snow is a waste of time where there is serious snow fall. Get a blower and toss the snow 60ft down wind of your laneway.

Yup, helps to push it as far as possible the first snow fall. Lots of guys don't, and then when they run out of room in early January they have to try and push a solid pile of ice.

The guys that push snow by the apartment I live in this year suck big time. They're looking for more help so I'm thinking about inquiring. Maybe then the snow will get plowed sooner than 9:00 in the morning. Atleast last year when they hired it out the guys were out there at 3 AM clearing it out, so people could go to work in the morning.
