Combine rates in your area

I am curious what the rates are in your area. They seem to vary alot here. I did some corn this year with a JD 9400 and 643 head, but did not set a price yet. I do not want to charge too much or too little.

I had one neighbor do my beans and another get my corn out. The corn was done with a 9500, 6 row head, he charged a flat $.40 a bu hauled about 25 miles. The beans were done with a TR96, not sure what size head but I think it was a 25', he charged $30 acre and a dime a bu hauld 18 miles.

$34 per acre for soybeans using a New Holland TR85 with chopper. That included a fuel surcharge which varied and probably doesn't apply at all right now. I did all of the hauling with my own equipment. I was right there to take the loads from the combine so he had no waiting time.

This year we got $20/Acre for sunflowers and $17/acre for small grains. Trucking prices varied for the distance hauled. Not much corn around here, so I don't know what they would get for that.

According to the Iowa farm custom rate survey average is 28.10 an acre for corn and 27.10 for beans including fuel and labor. I've been paying 20 plus fuel for both and the combine burns about 3 gallons per acre so we about in line with the survey. Lee

A little ot but!!! My renter had 48 acres of mine seeded to corn for silage. He had it custom cut with a JD sp six row corn chopper and three big trucks. Charged $550 an hour and in nine hours he was loading machine leavel. Had to haul it about a half mine and dump then renterr pushed it into pile. The 3 trucks had to really move to keep up with chopper.
