Any of you guys seeing a premiem for conventional corn. I was told today $.50 or more. I would like to check it out and also see if yeildgard corn( not rr or triple stack) would qualify.

Just saw an ad from the one in St Peter, and can't say their name. Think they are looking for beans at this time, but from time to time get corn, as well.

Here is a web site listing, quite a few in our area, just have to be at the right time at the right place to hook up a contract on corn - corn is a little less common than beans.

I think any GMO is not allowed....

Nope, yieldguard does not qualify.

Just plain old corn,no GMO's allowed. Like paul said.

I've been told that CGBI is paying $.60 for this yrs conventional corn and that next year it could be significantly higher.

Local alcohol plant in Muscatine, Ia pays premium for non gmo corn. Have heard as high as $1/bu. But there is a catch. You have to have storage and deliver when they tell you to, and how much they will take. I was told that they see how many sellers they have for that week, and divide up the bushels they need between them. You can only take corn in when they tell you to and how many bushels. Can get to be a pain, big snow or ice storm, or frost going out and mud up to your mother-in-laws ears and they say we want corn today! Thinking about trying it, but not sure if it's gonna work out. Storage, but no truck, not enough to be worth having one. Chris

We are hauling conventional corn now. Getting $.60 premium. We have to store it and they call for it in Dec. or Jan. depending on barge service.

If we hauled it during harvest there would be no premium. Lines are long at the elevator and they do not have time to sort it or space to store it. They want it when they can put it straight on to a barge. (we live near Ohio River)

We also have a bean meal plant next to one of our elevators. They'll take conventional beans anytime and pay a premium based on their needs. But they are always using them up in the mill.
