Hey folks,
I've got several Parmak 6 volt solar chargers that eat batteries because of limited exposure to sunlight. Wondering what would happen if I hooked them to 12 volt batteries and just do away with the solar panel. A buddy has been using a 9 volt charger for 6 years now with 12 volt batteries, but would 12 on a 6 be too much?

Any help is appreciated.

Dave

we are a repair station for parmak a battery should last with avg conditions 4-5 years you may have a problem with the charger itself a 12 volt battery wil work for a while but the board inside is set up for 6 volt you will find buying regular batteries and charging them will be more expensive than the gel type

I always replace the batteries in the 6v with 9v batteries (out of exit signs, had a deal for a while changing them annually) when they need changing.
