Deisel Fuel Additive

I have run several major R&D labs and seen a lot of additives. We even tested samples from auto parts stores to see if they did as claimed. Most additives fail every reasonable test that we subject them too. I was a skeptic until a client brought us a formulation to make and test. This material is called MG22D and it is sold by Freedom Additives. We have run it is Cats, IH,Cummins,Mercedes and Detroit deisels engines and so far it has done well. Mileage increases are in the 8% to 35% range and emmissions reductions are about the same%. The additive has a cetane improver, a cold flow improver and a detergency additive. Yes,I know you have heard it before, but believe me I am the biggest skeptic I know. Check it out at the Freedom Additive web site.

Show me some concrete test results from an independent laboratory such as ASE or TMC & I might begin to believe it. Most, if not all, additives are "snake oil". Of course their own website is going to talk it up, they're the ones selling it!

have been useing some type of additives in all of my diesels, trucks, mowers & tractors.I would look at a test called the spicer lubricty test. Some folks say snake oil I say to each his own.

I started to use Stanadyne Fuel Conditioner in the diesel fleet where I work..We've had injector problems with F-550 6.0 liter diesels..I haven't heard anything bad about this product..I figure if it saves on a $2,700 injector job , It's worth it..Time will tell..

I've heard that the newer diesel fuel doesn't lubricate as well as it used to, which is important for injection parts.

A lot of the over-the-counter additives add the lubricity back in...
some people have different ideas, like marvel mystery oil, trans fluid, etc...

I prefer to use a product designed for diesel fuel systems.
Doesn't add much to the operating costs,
and for me, I figure its cheap insurance...
so I use an additive; no specific one, but a namebrand, depending on whats available.

I want to add, I have no solid facts or evidence to base this on...
