Well today I shot the biggest deer I have ever shot but the neat thing is what I used to shoot it. I shot it with a 44mag at around 60 yards. So any body else hunt with a pistol?? It would have been at least a 10 pointer but the right side of his rake was broken off about 3 inches up so it was only a 6 pointer

A few years ago, a local teenage girl wanted to go deer hunting with her brother and stepfather. Her mom told her "NO!" as her chores were not done. The men-folk left to hunt, mom left for a shopping trip, and the girl was washing dishes when she spotted a buck in the back yard. She went to the other end of the house, got her stepdad's 44 magnum, and sneaked out the front door. When she got to the back of the house, she sighted the gun around the corner, and dropped the deer! A few hours later, when the hunting party came back empty-handed, she told them to go look in the back yard.

Shot one with my Redhawk a few years ago when my rifle malfunctioned. I prefer the rifle though. Now I have a backup rifle just in case. You're no shabby shot. Not easy to shoot a deer at 60 yards with a revolver. Congratulations on your sharp shooting. Scoped or iron sights?

I have a scoped TC single shot pistol chambered in .357 Maximum. I hope to use it on deer in the late season as soon as I get some bullets loaded. I plan to keep the shots relatively close--less than 50 yards.

I shot a nice 10 pointer with my Ruger Blackhawk in .41Mag. 90 yards away. I wouln't normaly try a shot that far, but I had a good solid rest, perfect broadside shot and a fresh snow. Had it zeroed at 75 yards so I just held a couple inches high. Bullet went in just behind the left shoulder, made goo out of the heart and lungs, and broke the shoulder on the far side. The bullet was just under the skin.

No Old, I have a 44 magnum and love to shoot it - but I don't trust my marksmanship enough to hunt with it. I do, however, know of an 11 year-old redneck that reputedly dropped a group of three deer in their tracks with a .22 single-shot rifle with iron sights.

Of course that was about thirty years ago and food on the table was apparently more important than legality.

I shot a doe one time with a 9mm pistol, but I have never realy hunted with one.

I do realy enjoy squirrel hunting with a 22 target pistol.

Congrats on the deer.

I carry a 9mm for backup when deer hunting. Has finished off several deer. Why bust the big ammo when not needed. I have been known to carry just the 9 under certain close quarter hunting situations. Have no doubt it could put a heap of hurt on a deer, properly applied.

Iron sites. I will not go with a scope on it because of the serial number on the 44 mag I have. FS0002 2nd gun in production s I'll leave it as it is and it sure can hit hard and is good out to who knows how far.

I shot a doe at 35 yards with my S&W .357 Magnum. She went 30 yards and dropped. Broadside shot took out both lungs.

Used to be that in Indiana when you got a pistol deer license you
got a concealed carry permit with it. They changed that law, now
you have to apply for the concealed carry permit.
