More Tires (truck)

I already asked you opinion a few days ago about truck tires in general, but now I have a specific question now that I have looked around and gotten some prices locally:

Between the;
Dayton Timberline A/T
Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S
Firestone Destination A/T
Yokohoma Geolander AT/S

*Firestone TransForce A/T

What would you choose? They are approximately in price order. I looked into the TransForce, but it is really rated too heavy for my F-150. The other ones are all rated for about 2500lbs (44psi), the Transforce about 3200lbs (80 psi).

Thanks again!

My friend has the Timberlines on his truck and has done well by them and he's not nice to them at all. But this is just a 1/2 ton chevy pick-up that only hauls stuff now and then. Another person I know uses the Cooper Discoverer ATR's and really likes them. The Timberlines were bought slightly used and the Coopers run about $86 ea where he gets them, but thats for a 2500 HD. Lots of reviews on Tirerack.com too you can check out. Mike

I just bought 4 bridgstone dueler 26570r17 for my 12 ton Dodge, look good ,work well $142.00 ea. plus tax. $10.00 to dispose of my old tires.they were Goodyears, got 64,000 miles out of them. MIKE in Hoagland,In.

i to have been looking for tires recently. And after hours of research since i had a broken ankle, I found the firestone dest ST to be by far the best. They are moderatly prices and come in many different sizes. They are also rated very high, most tires stores also recoment them. Google them or look them up on tirerack.com and you'l see how there rated

My choice would be the Bridgestone Dueler.I have used these at times and also the Big O "Big Foot" is another of choice. The Bridgestones give longer Milage but otherwise the two brands are comparable. I have questioned the Big "O" Dealer from time to time inquiring as to what Country they come from and what Company Mfg's Big O Tires but never seem to get an intelligent answer so if those concerns are of importance to you I would suggest you do some investigating.

Whatever is cheapest on craigslist generally works best for me! Just picked up a set free for my mazda p/u today.

i ues master craft think there made by cooper use them on my f150 and f350 seem most all the farmer ues them on ther work truck and also on there town trucks and suv here ther sold through southern indaina tire good price also beside the guy i get mine through delivers them to my shop

I have Firestone Trans Force A/T on my Dodge 3500 quad cab dually, pulled trailers almost daily ( heavy loads ) for at least half of the miles. I put the tires on at 52,000 and need to be replaced now at 97,000. There not a bad tire and price was why I bought them the first time. I'm looking for tires now and unless I find a better tire cheaper I'll put another set of the Trans Force on the truck.

I like cheaper but only because I mount, discount, all of it. If I had to pay for road hazard, mounting, stems, balance and all that which is almost half the price of the tire, I would probably buy more expensive tire to last longer.

I had the old style Timberline A/T. (pre 2000) would not take another set if free. I put Geolander AT/S on my 98 GMC 1500 Z71. I like them and this is my third set of Yokohama's with no problems so far. I payed $582 mounted, balanced, lifetime rotations at a local Tires Plus dealer. 265/75/16 8 ply I run my tires at 60 PSI year round.

While i love the fact that the Yokos are made in good ol' Salem Va (go hokies), I've gotta say that mine (285/75-16) howl like freezing timberwolves on the highway after 20,000 miles and one has a brutal hop. I'll be putting BFG All Terrains back on. Firestone/ bridgestone- same company, I like the B-stones more.
i've seen some cupping wear on the timerlines over time, but they are a great price point.

I have had great luck and long wear with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. I run them front and back on my trucks.

FWIW

As an X tire man, experience has shown me the BFG all terrains have the toughest casing of anything on the market. I have sold all of the ones you wrote about and had milage problems with the yokahamas on our gravel roads. Most of them would get about 12000 miles. Yokahama would not adjust them. We stopped selling them for that reason. I hope they have changed their adjustment policy or fixed the problem.
