What are the going prices across the states & foreign contries for electricity per KW/hr?
My last bill here was just under 9 cents per KW/hr.

It's around 5 cents per kilowatt and 5.9 cents per kilowatt depending on how many kilowatts you use. It's kind of wierd that you pay 9 cents per kilowatt. On a slightly different note, you didn't happen to have a guy from some energy company other than hydro one offer you some great deal on hydro did you?

.081, Central MN Coop. Plus all their "power cost adjustments" - whatever that means, about another .012.

about 20 cents in Germany. The more you use, the cheaper it is. Had something on TV the other day about a guy that runs a grocery store. Did a bunch of changes (big bucks) that saved a whole bunch of energy (about 15k kwh annually) that put him in lower usage bracket. His electric bill is higher now than before the change.

Just got my bill today. Says here 641(KWH) X .0599560 = 38.43 + Customer Charge (I have no idea) 9.91 + Yard light (not my choice on this one it just kinda happened ;) ) 6.95+ Taxes and fees 1.66= 56.95.

Rates are kinda low but its the other fees that get ya.

just over 5cents per killowat here in ontario also you can buy cheaper from private sellers. Tell us do you all buy the power then also pay for storage and delivery and debt repayment like we do in ontario. We use about $25.00 per month but my bill runs around $90.00 when you add all the other stuff on.We need more nuclear plants here.

Southeast Mexico 28 cents US per kWh and a 21% tax on top. So, around 34 cents kWh. Someone has to pay for all the deadbeats hot wired to the grid. Sure glad my company pays my home electric bill!!

$.05 for the first 600kwh, $.059 after that.
with all the extra charges(adjusted usage, delivery, regulatory charge, debt retirement and gst), i paid 13.84 cents for each of the 1120kwh i used in september.

9 cents even (including all fees/additions)in city of Portland, Or for 808kwh (Pacific Power).
Pacific has part of city, Ptlnd General Electric has the balance, don"t know their rate. Rates here differ depending on usage.

I think I hold the record at 21 cents kw/h here in Connecticut. The only true measure is to divide the total monthly kwh used by the month's bill.
Figured that way it includes all the pesky distribution fees & charges. My pure kw/hr is 11 cents, but meaningless in reality.

But I don't care anymore. Went with a grid tied solar system last December.

For fun nowadays I go down in the basement with a beer and watch my meter spin backwards on sunny days.

If they raise rates, I add more panels......you betcha.

With there being so many added on fees how can you even tell what your rate is anymore?

There is the customer charge, the energy charge, the fuel charge, the proper tax surcharge, the transmission charge, the environmental charge, and the franchise fee which is the hidden fee for our local government to gouge us a little harder without calling it a tax.

I keep whittling away at my bill and am getting close enough that I may soon put in photovoltaic panels and a generator to power a welder, etc. and tell the grid to kiss my grits.

Have been below 250 KWH per month for over a year now and could whittle that down even more if I needed to.

I don't mind paying for natural gas or electricity but I despise it when they want to collect more and use add ons to to get more.

Sorry, I intended to ask for the final/total price per KW/hr.
KW/hrs used divided by the final tally on your utility bill.

$.04998 or about a nickel per kwh here in central KS. We have one of the lowest rates in the country.

$.157kw with taxes for central AZ.

I love it, a judge just told our electric utility, APS, when they asked for a rate hike to instead cut dividends and executives bonus.

APS has ruined some prime farm land, several thousand acres, too build homes on. The local home builders could not afford to build the homes in that area but APS could with there unlimited funding.

Farm land before about $7k/a... now $65k/a... all this in 3yrs of APS building homes.

Central New York
15.3366 cents per Kwh
This includes all charges and taxes.
Meter Charge
Bill issuance charge
Delivery charge
Supply charge
Taxes

Just check, NE WI, rate is $.118, dividing use by total bill was $.13

I do get a yearly credit of $50 for putting a box on my A/C that will shut it off if demand is too great. They do have a program that you can get perferred rates if you chose a 12 hour period to get the preferred rate and 12 hours that you get a more expensive rate. So if you can schedule high electric use like clothes dryer, hair dryer etc off rate times you can save money. The weekends are at the reduced rate so you don't have to worry about scheduling your weekend. Just afraid my wife is a teacher so has off summers so she would probably cost me more...

You really can't just divide the final bill by the KWH used. I was gone a lot this past month and that would put my per KWH at 18.9¢ where normally figuring it that would would put it above 10¢.

The actual rate is 8¢ but the add ons really changed that for me. Energy charge was $3.02 with a final bill of $13.43. I used between a 1/3rd and a 1/4th of normal by being gone. Typical bill is about $20 to $25.

Where in Central New York? Here in Otsego County, with National Grid (formerly Niagara Mohawk the total charge is 18 cents per KWH.
The actual KWH charge is around 7 cents, but the final charge comes to 18 cents when all the additional charges are included.
My wife works in nearby Delaware Co. and has NYSEG and their prices are the same.

There are a few isolated pockets around here where people get cheaper power from REA, but that's kind of rare. Also a few small towns that have their own power companies.

Nice spot out there in the Thousand Islands. We used to live in Newcastle and worked at Pickering.
Havn't for some time but we used to cross at Kingston or Ganaoque on occassion.

That is the ONLY way to do it to find your true cost. The elect. co. have all kinda fancy formulas for the rate to make it look low for cost to compare, but what you actually pay is what you need to compare.
I'm Ohio edison and it runs around 12 cents KW and the local CO-OPs run about 6 cents KW this is off the total bill. If you look at my cost to compare it shows 5.9 cents.
The other scam of electric choice is there is no choice ! If you check my area you have a choice of Ohio Edison or First Energy. They are owned by the same co. I wish I could choose one of the cheap co-ops.
