Has anyone had experience with Rock Auto Parts? Positive? Negative?

My wife hit a deer with our Chrysler T&C. Our insurance approved me fixing it in my own shop, so I need a hood and upper tie bar. Rock has new certified aftermarket parts for less than I can buy used ones for.

I won't get into a pro and con argument about aftermarket body parts except to say I've had good luck as long as they're certified.

I wonder if these cheap parts are cheap because they are made with paper thin sheet metal? Call them up and ask for the thickness of the metal, then compare it to the factory originals to see exactly what type of deal your getting.

I've had zero problems with certified replacement body parts. I've also had no problems with Rock Auto. They give great service and support. Sometimes their prices beat everybody, and sometimes they are high.

If you haven't done so already, get a discount coupon before you buy. If you don't have your own, there are places on the Internet that stockpile them and give them away to anybody. All you need is a current code-number.

I have only bought mechanical and electrical parts---TOTALLY satisfied--quick shipment and friendly knowlegable assistance.

Couldn't be happier with them. Big time savings and I get my parts within a week (to Germany). Used to use Discount Auto, but the Rock beat them out. You get a couple of muscle car refridgerator magnets with your order too :D You should see our fridge
