For 4 years now...Have annoying rattle seems to come from front axle area. Few days ago I retighted the body supports screws accepted 1/2 to 3/4 turn...no rattle for 2 days now it rattles again. Worst if it is cool outside..in winter when -30 it is terrible. Bizarre....When first drive it from home it rattles badly...after that.. miles after mile the rattle dissapears slowly to silent after 10-15 miles.
Ball joints stabilizer links and all suspention components were checked many...many times no defect found.

Can't wait to find the problem.

Thanks for reading

it may be that one of the rubber body mounts is worn inside where the bolt goes thru and is allowing metal to metal contact being as it stopped when you tightened those, try tightening them again and see if you get any more turn on any of them these rattles are hard to find i know, good luck

look at the heat shields on the exhaust one side could be broken and it was just a coincidence that it stopped for a few or in the process you put it in a bind crawling and reaching to tighten the bolts.

another thing to check is cat. converter,..i've owned 2 ram 1500, and both have rattle that turned out to be inerds of converter..allthough mine is worst at idle, don't notice when traveling....

When I was with GM, we sold a lady a new Chevy mini-van. A week later she came back complaining loudly about a rattle in the floor.

We found a jar of pickles rolling around under the passenger seat.

I know it doesn't have anything to do with a Dodge, just had to mention it.

Goose ,that reminds me of a slick-lookin" gal that came in the dealership.Claimed the seat in her Sunfire wouldn"t move front or back.Shoulda seen her turn beet-red when I pulled out from the mechanism a pair of slinky pantie$!!

James and I were trying to find a dash rattle on our 95 Dodge 1ton dually. Then had to laugh about looking for a rattle on a 13 yr. old vehicle.

Hope you find the rattle. 13 yrs old or not, rattles are annoying.

Look at the front shock mounting bolts. I had the same problem for years. When I replaced the front shocks I found the problem.
It's an odd bolt. The threads are larger than the area where the shock rides. Like a taper. it wears...and it rattles.
