Minneapolis R tractor block

We are trying to restore an R Minneapolis-Moline. We tried several blocks only to find cracks around the top of the cylinder. We finally got one that doesn't have a crack, but is pitted badly. Anyone know of a fix for this, without boring and sleeving. This tractor will only be used for show, with very little run time. The engine will probably never see a load at all. If anyone has an idea or a good block let me know. Would JB weld work for this? I am a little leary.

Doug, Talk to Clint Stamm, (785) 325 2720. He has a lot of MM parts.. I just bought a block for a "Z" and it was a good one. I'm sure he has parts for a "R" as alot of them are inter-changeable with "Z". Clint Stamm, 2154 17th RD. Washington, KS 66968. HTH.

Wasn't there a ceritfied Cat mechanic on here a year or so ago saying they used JB weld on Cats in that perdicament? It seems to ring a bell. Just like duct tape,it's almost all you ever need sometimes.
