Question for Dave2

Guess it depends on the area but and the use but:

Everything that is common in the States plus. IHC by whatever name they used over the years are plentiful (Case dealer 5 miles away), but you'd be surprised what you see. Most are diesel, but some of the Eastern block machines "Zetor" were gas My town farmers have 3 and 4 cyl IHC's for for everyday use around the Hof/barn (I have a 3 cyl 26hp). Bigger stuff is Fendt, JD, and MF. One guy has a big Fiat. I didn't know that tractors had so many names (Porsche, Lamborgini, etc). I've seen a couple of David Brown, Satoh, and one guy has a Ford (couple Fordson Dexta's in the area.
Some of the horse operations that jumped in with both feet and think they have an image to keep up have these new wonder tractor combos (Iseki, Kubota, and another one I can't think of.

Couple of folks get by with an old 2 wheeled combo that has attachments to do anything a you'd want to do and has a trailer that you can haul a house on and zoom along about 10 mph.

I'll try to find a couple of links to oldtimer tractor shows. Real neat stuff at them usually.

Here are a couple links:

http://www.jaegers-home.de/bildarchiv/bildwahl.html

Click on the blue links under “bildarkive”

http://www.otlv.at/modules/xcgal/index.php?cat=4

Click on the pictures in the upper half and they will open up several pics (several pages of this). Click on the ones on the lower half and it will open up one window that you can click right or left on the arrows at the top to view several pics (number will be at the top). Picture is “bild” or “bilder”

Should be well over a thousand pics here.

Dave, Thank you! Those pics. are so interesting, cool.. I always wonderd what was on the other side of the world.... Thanks again!!! Larry

Your welcome. Between 15 and 30 of them parade by my house every second Sunday. Only tractors aloud on the roads on Sunday and Holidays.

Dave

Wife just rolls her eyes. Takes about45 minutes for the string to finish up (nothing is really organized) so I just grab a beer or two and a lawn chair and set next to the road.

What about if there are real emergencys , Broke leg, heart attack, ect,ect,.. By law, can you take your loved ones are a neighbor to the hospital on that sunday? "I am not trying to be funny", I just heard there are strick rules in Germany.... Or do you have to call a ambulance... Larry

Sorry, I meant that the tractors that were parading were the only tractors allowed on the roads Sunday. There are some exceptions at plant and harvest time or if it can't be avoided. Cars are fine. It's not so bad. Pretty much gauranteed an easy Sunday

Not unless there's a war. No machinery and no trucks over 7.5 ton GWV. Exception is emergency vehicles and perishables.

Neighbor told me that 30+ years ago, if you needed to take cre of something on Sunday or a Religous Holiday (plenty of them here), you had to get permission from the Preacher.
If my horses are hungry or thirsty, they get a water wagon or round bale regardless of what day it is. I try to accomodate when possible. I do it while church is going on because I don't go anywhere near it on my route. First couple of times anyone said something, I just asked them why they weren't in Church and gave them a disgusted look.
