I sold a frame and rearend of a Super 55 Oliver on ebay last winter. I have been paid. Last communication was in February. I have emailed the person off and on since then with no response. I have no phone number. How long do I hang onto this thing before I give up? I am not real gifted on extra space. I also know of someone who could use it. Just wondering what some of you would do or have done in this situation.

I have the same problem. I sold a 290 and a 490 planter together last November. The guy paid via pay pal. He emailed me a few months later for my phone number and I haven't heard from him since. I have tried emailing him a 4 or 5 times with no reply.

I too have the same problem. Sold a small tractor last June. Specifically said that I can store for a few months no problem, but I need the room by winter. Fella paid, have not heard from him since. Tried to contact. . . I really need to move the tractor outside to store some of my stuff over the winter. . . tried making it very clear. Ive even had a few folks interested in it for a bit more than it sold for since then. Maybee I should get the money from them and repay the original buyer.
I know if I buy something at distance I do what I can to get it home. Dont sleep the best at night knowing something of "mine" is a good distance away. Guess other people dont have as much worry.
I had the tractor running good at the time of sale, sure hope sitting all this time has not changed it!

MCL,
I would calculate the storage fees starting from a month after purchase. Email him a bill for storage, letting him know the meter is still running at x $ per day. Probably will be more than he paid you  Then, wait a month, sell or otherwise get rid of it. Then, if he shows up, tell him it's gone and when he asks for his money back show him the storage bill up until you disposed of it saying: "I think we're square" or "You owe ME money". Save all your emails (printed copies). Then get a good night's sleep.
