I have a JD 3020 gas tractor w/ a JD 46 loader. It runs great and is a great step up from my old JD 50. After driving a friends JD 4230 w/ cab last weekend on a cold, windy day, I'm thinking about putting a cab on my 3020. If I had the money, I'd probably be better off trading in my 3020 for a tractor with a cab.

My local JD salavage yard has an old cab off a 4020 that I can get for $400. Will the 4020 cab fit on my 3020?

Another option I'm considering is a Regal heater cab ($300 new). Anyone have any experiences with these?

Used Regal, John Deere (and some other brand) heater cabs for about 40 years; for field work (low ground speed/engine at operating tempature) they work great; will get so hot that you have to fold the curtains back. For intermittent use........an hour or so, engine at low speed, going down the road.......they'll keep the wind off, but provide little or no heat. As far as mounting the cab.........it can be done/has been done, but I've no personal experience.
