TSC bolt-on forks

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the bucket loader forks you can get from TSC and how strong/durable they are. We recently put a loader on our MF 35 and I have been thinking about a set of forks to load logs onto wagons more conveniently. We have a little sawmill and lots of logs to bring in to it. I don't want to buy a set if they will just bend under a load. Thanks in advance.

If that's the only thing you want forks for, I'd suggest picking up a few logs with tongs or even a log chain to see how well the tractor handles them, befor investing in the forks. I don't think your '35' will handle much of a log..............

Zachary IF they are the type that slide on the loader bucket and have a large bolt to secure be careful. I have used a hay fork of that design for 2 seasons and now my bucket has cracks where the two clips slide and rest in the bucket. This is a solid heavy JD bucket on a model 48 loader. My bales weigh about a half ton to 1200 lbs. The best design or type are ones that you remove the bucket and attach forks to loader arms. More expensive but darn well worth it. Chas

I built some forks for my loader bucket that attached in a similar fashion. What I found was that the load was WAY too far forward when I handled logs. I had to be VERY careful. You're naturally going to "try that big one" and it WILL cause problems.

Build a Bobcat-style quick attatch for your loader than you can quick-change from bucket to forks or whatever and keep the load where it belongs. As said bofore clamping attatments on the cutting edge is likely to bend or break the cutting edge. Armand

I got some that have a chain that goes around the whole bucket, tighten with a chain binder. This allows the top of the bucket to carry a lot of the load, instead of clamping all of it to the bucket floor. Less stress on the bucket.

I'm real glad I have them, I use them a lot with brush & other light jobs. Way out in front of the bucket, you don't get to lift much of a load. Can't see real well around the bucket to pick up a pallet. And so forth. Like I say, glad I have them & use them a lot, but they do have limitations too.

Thank you all for your thoughts. I will stick with tongs for now and see about a real fork attachment at some point in the future.
