9n distributor problems

it's a 40? ford ferguson and i have no spark at plugs,, resistor has spark on both side no juice at the coil with key on will jumper tomorrow.. i've never had a front dist. i took the bail off i guess the coil and looks like a condenser, took cap off and there was a point cover i guess,, how do u work on these things.. no room and the way i shake, it ought to be fun is there a schematic or pictures of front dist thanks jim

The whole distributor is held on by 2 bolts and you take it off and work on it on your bench. The tang that goes into the camshaft is offset so it goes on one way only. Trying to put it on wrong could crack it.

are the 2 bolts on the exterior of the distributor? thanks jim

There should be 2 "ears" with bolt holes. I say that, because i've heard that distributor is similar to the one used on the old Ford flat-head v/8's.
