old projects

Anybody have old projects sitting around that they never got to,but time has gotten away and looks like they never will be done ,like I have?Ihave a small list. Oliver 60 ,UB Special Moline ,two 34 ford truck cabs , sand buggie with 327 chevy motor, vw engine and running gear, model A ford frame axels and other parts, maytag engines, and lots of Junkes. What do you have sitting around gathering dust??

'66 Chevy PU, still drive it to haul stuff but I am afraid it will never be restored which was my plan 8 years ago!

53 Allis WD45, 50 farmall cub, old montgomery wards lawnmower, International TD14, John deere 1010 the list goes on...

Oh, man! Do I ever! Six tractors (Oliver 66, AC B, Ford 9N, JD G, B and AR) and numerous machine tools (3 lathes, two shapers, one vertical mill, one horizontal mill) plus countless honey-do projects like old furniture to restore, house upgrades, etc .... geez, the list goes on and on! It all looked do-able a few years ago, but now ...?? If I live to be 150 I might have a shot at getting most of them done!! Prioritization and time management will be the key ... but I'll do that tomorrow. Think I'll take a nap now ...

Ken,

There are more of us than there are people who are all "caught up"..........OR at least that's what I tell myself........

To restore someday there's a '47 JD AR, '54 Chev pick-up, and various other little projects TOO numerous to mention...........

Started a self propelled concrete breaker-tamper, several smaller projects need to sell or trade

Yep I have 2 or 3 like that times 10. I have a 3 axle trailer I started years ago and its still waiting, a couple of old cars and probably 5 plus tractors and equipment. Maybe one of these days I'll get to them
Hobby farm

I've got two JD 420 crawlers with tranny trouble. The '57 I bought new in '59 is apart from 10 years ago. The needle bearings under the cluster gear went. I got parts (gear and shaft) but it's still waiting. The '56 has a broken tooth on 2nd gear. I want to get one running before I tear the other one apart. Besides other projects started or dreamed about.

MM 4 Star that "started" getting a new rear axle seal a couple years ago; a JD 710 (Canadian Mannheim model) thats been waiting awhile for some transmission work; OC4 crawler needing an inside front idler; the list goes on. On the bright side, I had (yes, HAD) an AC D15 that needed the Power Director rebuilt. A guy from Oregon who knew I had it made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and we loaded it up last Tuesday. Anybody want any of the above stuff real bad??? Or even kinda bad???

I started to restore a 52 M38A1 army jeep about 4 years ago, I wanted to put it back to full military- never got around to it, I will someday I hope, I already have about $ 1500 in it !-mike

We're suppposed to finish our projects? ;-)

I have an F14 that has been an off and on, well more off than on project that I started back in'78. Got married and it got put on hold til about 6 years ago. Had it almost back together and lost my barn in a tornado so it sat outside for 2 years. Someday......

My dad retired in 1970. One of his city bred friends poked him about "rocking chair" time. My dad's reply, " Heck, I've had projects that have been waiting for twenty years to get done!"

Well, he passed in '84, and there's still some of his projects that still are waiting for their turn to come up. On a farm it's never done.

Been working on a 1937 JD B since last fall, mechanical stuff about done but cosmetics barely started. Maybe next summer, I'm having too much fun using it to cut wood. An old MF& lawnmower I'm going to fix up someday.

I am pretty much "caught up" except for what little was mentioned above.

Seems like all I have are unfinished projects . all I ever get fuly fiinshed are the essentials. Roof heating, keeping at least 1 vehicle going, etc.

(quoted from post at 10:26:26 11/04/08) Anybody have old projects sitting around that they never got to,but time has gotten away and looks like they never will be done ,like I have?

LOL! Is anything ever done? I'm way better at starting projects than finishing them, unfortunately.

Sitting around here is a '68 Roadrunner (runs, needs paint and interior), a '69 GTO (needs everything!), plus the unfinished patio cover, sprinklers...only the 9N isn't on the 'project' list at the moment, it suits my needs as it is.

My project is a '65 WM-300 Power Wagon..It's been sitting in my pole barn taking up space..I started to replate the cab floors , got the doors off to repair the bottoms of northern Ohio rust..I've been looking for a pick-up bed for it..It had a welders body on it when I bought it..It did run and drive 10 years ago..If all goes well , I'll semi-retire in another 5 years..I'll either fix it or sell the darned thing..

1950 Harley Davidson 45 flathead...........basket case when i got it.......5 years ago. Will get around to it after these two cylinder Deeres are running.

It only took me 3 summers to finally put an engine in my good old Snapper Hi-vac riding lawn mower! Took that long to finally get a good one! Itry now to make things run as soon as i get them--no waiting for the right time--'cause it never comes!

Our farm shop burned in 1976. We built another one on the same site in 1977. Bigger and we put a big I beam across it with the intention of putting in a trolly with a chain hoist. Well my dad found a chain hoist, but being in a hurry, we just wrapped a chain around the beam and put the hoist in stationary. Last year I finally got the trolly built and put up. Works great!!! My dad didn't live to see it finished. Only took 30 years!!!!
