Hi forum users and readers I hope you can solve a stupid problem with my computer
Im getting a lot of popups when Im browsing the internet, sometimes even when Im not at the computer, I leave it on for
an hour and when I get back I have 2-3 popups that have appeared from nowhere. How can I remove this? Im really not intrested
in finding adult friends or downloading a new screen saver :D

Well thats it, stupid problem and I hope that it has a nice easy solution that you can come up with, Im getting all your replays to my email
so I´ll keep an eye on the topic, take care.

What you are seeing is called "adware". Its marketing junk that opens a browser window to sell you something. Basically your computer was hijacked. It is similar to a virus the way I look at it.

Goto www.adaware.com and download ad-aware free. Install it and run a full scan on your drive. If you have never done this, you will be amazed what is there nosing around.
Ad aware Free is what you want

The wife and i had the same problem then we started getting it in our email accounts "bad".

We were useing "outlook express" for our emails. We tried adaware and everthing else under the sun to stop it with out good results!!!!!!!!!

A freind said switch your email account over to "hotmail" and you won't have a problem.

"WOW" it's a little more work but almost no spam or b.s .

In the last 3 months that we have been useing it we have maybe gotten 4 spam mails total.

Best part about hotmail is that it is free and they keep there spy ware up to date at no cost to you.

The hotmail domain will never close down seeing as who owns it as opposed to going threw your local cable company etc etc etc.

I really like Firefox browser since it is not a Microsoft product it seems to keep a lot of ills at bay from the git go.

To speed up browsing, noticeably even with my DSL, I turn off Java and Java Script unless I need them. Them being off drops many, many ads from web pages some of which are animated GIFs which take a tad extra bit of time to load.

As a fairly recent tweak I also installed Adblock Plus which maintains a central data base and eliminates many ads from appearing.

Java and Java Script can be turned off under Internet Explorer too, but it isn't nearly as easy to switch it on and off as with Firefox.

also get spybot search and destroy, install it, update it and then run it. get rid of anything it finds. it is available from 100-downloads.com and is free.
