Silage as fertilizer?

Has anyone used old silage as fertilizer and was it very effective?

I have never used it. One thing to be aware of is like any other material that is not rotted/composted will lock up some of your N while it decomposes.

I used about 2 pickup loads on the garden a few years ago I put it down in the fall and turned what the worms haden"t eaten under the next spring,it worked fine for me. If you do a search on some of the organic sights I think you can find fertalizer values

Seemed to help a little, but was sure a good way to get rid of the old silage.
