here are a few pics I took on Friday Oct. 31 of my 1947 Farmall MD and a 12ft JD field cultivator.

These were takin in a friends field and I think I will leave the real farming to him and I will just do tillage with the larger equipment.

The temp was about 60 degrees. Not to bad for the last day of Oct. and about 45 miles northwest of Green Bay. Very relaxing after spending 47 hours in a factory all week.

I am a machinist by trade and I am fully aware of my hearing. Ear plugs are mandatory for many of the projects that I do whether at work or at home. Thanks for the advice though. Too many of people neglect the use of hearing protection only to regret it later in life.

If I remember correctly that cultivator is known as a "toolbar" with those big coils on the shanks. What horizontal shank spacing do you have? Did you have any trouble with plugging in the corn stalks? The tractor fenders look different than factory IH. Are they from a later IH or maybe after market or maybe I"m not seeing them correctly??

I assume it is 1 ft spacing. 12 shanks and 12 ft wide. Not much problem with stalks as the corn was chopped. Only were the chopper missed and folded the stalks over is when it plugged up.
