JD 70 pony motor

Looking at a JD 70 pony does not start the owner has not tried to get it started,is there someone out there that sells rebuilt ponies for a JD 70 thanks!

Is it in THAT tough shape you need to replace it, or is it s simply-repaired ignition or carburetor problem?

(As I'm sure you know OH'ing a "pony" is BIG $$$, to do it right.)

ya, if the engine turns over at all, you should be able to get it running, if you're not worried about staying original, an electric starter is much cheaper and starts the tractor much easier.

A set of new coils, wires, plugs and cleaned up fuel system and most cranking engines will run fine.
Occasionally a water pump seal or antifreeze mixed with engine oil will ruin the rods.
It's a wonder most cranking engines have an intact bottom end. Rare if the oil is ever changed with most owners. The oil also is usually diluted with gasoline as most operators don't close the gasoline valve.
