How they can manage to get a chain unhooked and get the gate open is beyond me. This a.m. i discovered my dairy steers out in the cow yard with the beef herd. The biggest one decided he was gonna show the biggest calf who was boss, well now that steer has a bum front shoulder because old Normande mama showed him who was boss. It was quite the adventure getting them all seperated and back into the right pen. I suppose I will let that steer have a few days to get better, if he doesnt I guess I will have to just send him to the locker. Just has not been a good day.
 
I got home from the field tonight and checked the hay feeders in the cow yard. Half a bale in the first one, hay was gone in the second one. Funny thing was that the round bale feeder was missing too. I looked around and the big angus bull was wearing it as a necklace. I went and got the loader with the pallet forks on and drove right up to him and lifted it up and he walked out, no harm-no fowl.
