OT/not as bad as I thought

The Fielders Choice seed rep called last night. I ordered some of my seed corn for next year. Didn't ask the price,just told him to email the bill this morning. I'd been hearing all the horror stories of $300 a bag seed. I ordered all Round Up Ready,almost half of it Bt rootworm. The total averaged $128 a bag. Could've been worse.
 
How do the yields of the Fielders Choice compare to some of the other brands? Here we have a grower we have been dealing with for about 25 years. Cheaper than Pioneer (and it doesn't go down like the Pioneer does!), cheaper than Becks and you get what ya order, usually a bit cheaper than the Garst/NK and yeilds just as good or better. Just sold some to a buddy 'cause his pioneer cost $10 a bag more and only yielded 5 bpa less.
 
Bought some Garst Liberty Link for $108 a bag....I'm like you I was pleasantly surpised! But I doubt the fertilizer guys will be very similar since they all locked in supply when fuel was high.
 
I am thinking about going from Pioneer to Fielders Choice and would like those that use it; to give their impression of the seed. Thank you
 
I am having trouble finding anything RR under 1$150. Renk, Johnson, Gold Country, and a couple others. Are some changing their prices??Johnson 8766RR $172 Retail-2233RR $180 retail,
Renk 288RR $178, 488RR $193, 438 RR $193, non of these are BT or have any other fancy traits. Any seed dealers that or regulars on here?
 
Not necessarily, it's called being prudent, I also like to know the price before I purchase. giving someone a blank cheque is not my way.
 
I've walked away a good many times with more than enough cash still in my pocket due to a statement like that. Including away from a Chevy truck salesman with a smart mouth.
 
I'm happy with it. Great drydown,good yields,stands well. We had a Pioneer dealer here for years that pushed it on everybody,but I could NEVER get Pioneer corn dry.
